The Edmond Police Department reports that at approximately 10:30 p.m. Jan. 7 an officer observed a white Nissan sedan pull out of 1205 S. Broadway. The officer ran the tag on the vehicle and found it belong to a Ford. The officer left the parking lot and could no longer see the vehicle. After a quick search of the area, the officer discovered the vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. The officer later initiated their traffic lights and began a pursuit of the vehicle. In several instances, the vehicle ran through red lights. Police noted that the driver threw something out. Police later discovered this to be a large bag of methamphetamine. The driver of the vehicle crashed into a building after losing control of the vehicle. Police took 48-year-old David Robin Whitmore into custody. Police reportedly found a digital scale with white residue that tested positive for meth.
