In a late April Fool's stunt, Netflix has posted a dead-on parody of the Apple Watch -- with a fake announcement of a wrist-bound video device that would let subs stream videos anytime, anyplace. "It's the vast world of Netflix, right on your wrist!" exclaims the narrator of a video uploaded Wednesday. "Because life is too short to waste precious time not watching Netflix." Apple is launching the Apple Watch -- which does not, for the record, support Netflix video-streaming -- priced starting at $349, and available to pre-order on Friday. The device, a companion to iPhones, provides app alerts, music playback, certain biofeedback monitoring and other features (such as displaying the current time). But the fictional Netflix Watch, even though it's the size of an iPhone, sounds way better.
