A group of Cuban migrants and their dog have washed ashore on a Miami beach after sailing for six days on a home-made raft. The emotional scene when the 12 migrants jumped onto the sand with hands raised over their heads in celebration was captured in a video posted to Facebook by Ana Diaz. People on the Florida beach greet the 11 men and one woman with cheers and hugs while a man yells "you made it". The video has generated nearly 1 million views in the seven hours since it was posted on Tuesday. Once ashore a beachside hotel provided the group with food and water, CBS Miami reports "The guy actually came out. He watched what was going on. He found out what happened, the things they went through and just gave everyone a hundred dollars and went back inside," said witness Jerry Holmes. One of the migrants, Carlos Garcia, said the journey had been treacherous. "Six days of very bad weather. We really thought that we were going to die," Mr Garcia said in Spanish. The group shared water and food on the tiny boat but had run out just before arriving in the United States. "Yesterday, all the food ran out. May God help us. We saw the light and we followed the light," Mr Garcia
