Mr Singh, full name: Amrik Singh, is a regular hard-working American who was tending to his cash desk when a masked man burst in with a shotgun. The incident happened at a gas station at Hyde Park, New York, and saw Singh hand cash over to the attacker who was wearing two masks and a hood over his head. “I don’t see him when he walks in – just when he comes in the door. He has got a shotgun,” Singh explains. “He got a plastic bag. He gives it to me and says, ‘Put the money in the bag or I’ll shoot you.'” Singh runs the store with his wife and his mother-in-law and has emphatically stated that he’s not a hero for what he did next.
