A takeoff was aborted at Florida's Tampa International Airport when a United Airlines plane's tire burst into flames and a fire truck was summoned to the tarmac. Passengers aboard United flight 1948 Monday said the pilots had to slam on the brakes of the Houston-bound plane during takeoff when a tire blew out and caught fire. "Just on the final point where it would lift, that's when it boomed," passenger Himanshu Parikh told WTVT-TV. People aboard the flight captured video of a fire truck coming to meet the plane on the tarmac and spray the flaming wheel with fire-retardant foam. Airport officials said there were no injuries and passengers were booked on other flights while the plane was taken to a hangar to be examined by airline technicians
