CCTV onbaord a tram captures the horrific moment a pedestrian stares at her phone - unaware she is seconds from death.
The woman is oblivious to the danger she is in as she stands in the middle of the tracks.
As the tram emerges from underneath a railway bridge, she remains standing in its path.
The frantic driver tries to stop, but it's too late.
By the time she realises what is happening, she is struck down.
The driver, who appears to be in her 60s, is obviously distraught and exits the cab in a bid to help.
The woman was rushed to a Moscow hospital where she later died of her injuries.
The name of the victim and the driver have not been made public.
Moscow police have launched an investigation.
