A little over a year after undergoing season-ending neck surgery, Baylor quarterback Seth Russell is most likely done for the rest of his senior season, too.
Late in the third quarter of the Bears' game against the Oklahoma Sooners on Saturday, Russell scrambled out of the pocket and — after gaining about 10 yards — was taken down by Sooners linebacker Caleb Kelly. Unable to get up after the play, Russell immediately began pointing to his left leg, which bent awkwardly during contact.
The Bears announced that Russell — who was eventually carted off the field — suffered a dislocated ankle and will undergo X-rays at the stadium. Freshman quarterback Zach Smith entered the game as his replacement.
