Video footage of a traffic accident caused by a speeding driver in a southwest Chinese city on Wednesday has served as a warning to motorists about the dangers of disobeying traffic laws.
The surveillance footage showed the horrifying moment a van was upended after being hit by a white sedan which lost control and swerved across the highway.
The sedan driver immediately reported the incident to police officers in Zunyi City of Guizhou Province.
"We rushed to the scene after receiving reports. Our investigations conclude that the car driven by a driver surnamed Ren was out of control after running over the speed limit, and it crashed into the Chang'an van opposite," said Wu Jiong, a local police officer.
Four people riding in the van suffered minor injuries following the incident.
