Marion County, FL, 2 March, 2017 - On 3/2/17, approximately 10:57 p.m. Ocala Police Officers responded to McDonalds located at 3455 North Pine Avenue in reference to an Armed Robbery.
It was reported a black male wearing a hooded sweatshirt and armed with a revolver approached the drive through window on foot, reached through the open window and stole the cash drawer.
The suspect fled the scene in a black BMW with the cash drawer that contained an unknown amount of currency.
While working this scene, Ocala Police received a second call in reference to attempted Armed Robbery at the McDonalds at 4110 SW 38th Court.
The suspect and vehicle description were the same as the one at 3455 North Pine Ave.
Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) Deputies were checking surrounding McDonalds when they located the suspect vehicle at the McDonalds at CR484 & I75 in the drive thru.
MCSO engaged in a pursuit and the suspect vehicle led South on I75 into Sumter County.
The BWM exited County Road 470 where Sumter County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) and Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) gave assistance.
After taking several back roads, one of the three subjects fled on foot.
Air 1 and K9 Nix located and took into custody B/M Aubrey Desean Strong, 9/13/1996.
The BMW was reported stolen out of Gainesville.
MCSO arrested Strong for Auto Theft, Resisting, and Possession of Cocaine.
Ocala Police Detectives are currently in Sumter County continuing this investigation.
