Two Malian immigrants have died in a fire that has developed in the night inside the 'Great ghetto', the slums located in the countryside between San Severo Rignano Garganico. When it grew the fire, which in a few minutes wrapped numerous cabins, on site were already operational firefighters, policemen and police officers who were guarding the area after the evacuation began on 1 March last year. The prosecutor of Foggia, who investigates for murder and arson, excludes the time that the flames were appiccate voluntarily. In the evening the camp was cleared and bulldozers began to clear the entire structure.

The victims were named Mamadou Konate and Nouhou Doumbia, had respectively 33 and 36 years old and had fled from Mali. To identify their tortured bodies were other migrants of the slum, which reported their names to the police. Konate was found charred on a cot. The other was near the exit of the cabin. Maybe he realized what was happening and attempted to escape. Around over 100 shacks incinerated by flames still there is the smell of smoke and destruction.
