Footage shows a New Zealand schoolgirl being knocked out by bullies
Other girls drag her to the ground and stomp on her head, video shows
'Things happen every day' at the school, the victim said after the attack
A New Zealand schoolgirl was knocked out by bullies in a shocking assault caught on video.
Footage shows the girl being shoved by several girls before one of them pulls her ponytail, causing her to fall to the ground.
Lying face down on a wooden deck, the girl is defenceless as another student stomps on her head.
'I can't get the video out of my head, of her being knocked out,' the girl's mother, Nicola Evans, told Television New Zealand.
The station reported that the assault happened sometime last week at Ashburton College, a state school located about an hour's drive south of Christchurch.
The girl's teeth were damaged as a result of the assault, her mother said.
'Things happen every day' at the school, the girl told TVNZ.
Asked if she feels her school is safe, she replied 'not at all.'
TVNZ reported two girls were suspended after the attack. Their future at the school is to be determined at an upcoming trustee board meeting.
Ashburton College administrators could not be reached for comment.
