This is the horrific moment a fuel tanker exploded next to a Louisiana highway, killing a mother-of-two.
Dash cam footage captured by Andreas Plyler shows the blast after a fuel tanker rear-ended a dump truck near Luling, Louisiana on Thursday morning.
The fuel tanker bursts into a massive ball of fire as drivers pass by on the busy highway. The crash lit the 8,000 gallons of gasoline the ranker was transporting.
The 44-year-old driver of the dump truck, Chalanta Brown, was the only fatality, according to Louisiana State police.
The mother and veteran truck driver was declared dead at the scene.
The 31-year-old tanker driver, Glen Robichaux Jr, sustained moderate injuries, according to St. Charles Herald Guide. He was treated at St. Charles Parish Hospital.
Impairment is not believed to be a factor in the crash.
State Police spokeswoman Melissa Matey told the Herald Guide that Brown was driving 'at a very slow rate of speed for unknown reasons.'
Interstate-310 South was closed for repairs the rest of the day. The investigation is ongoing.
