This is the shocking moment a young woman minding her own business was knocked unconscious on a busy city centre street.
The 20-year-old shopper was walking near Sainsbury's on Piccadilly when a man barged into her and knocked her to the ground.
The man then fled the scene without even checking to see if the woman was okay.
The attack, which was caught on CCTV, appeared to be completely unprovoked and shocked passers-by ran to the woman to help her.
Police have now appealed for information about the incident, which happened at about 8.15pm on April 11, in a bid to track the man down.
Sergeant Jacob Hunt from Greater Manchester Police's City Centre Team said: 'Luckily the woman has suffered no lasting injuries, but this could have been so much worse.
'She was minding her own business just walking through Piccadilly Gardens.
'The CCTV clearly shows the incident, but it is difficult to work out who was involved and who was trying to help the woman.
'This is why we are keen to speak to anyone who features in the CCTV so we can give the woman some answers.'
