Earlier in the game Blues halfback Mitch Pearce was floored in a crunching head-high tackle in the 50th minute of State of Origin game one.
The New South Wales Blues were leading 12-4 and attacking the Queensland line when Pearce's head was crunched in a tackle during the collision with Will Chambers.
Pearce lay momentarily motionless on the ground with Queensland five-eight Anthony Milford also collected by some friendly fire after that tackle.
Both Milford and Pearce were forced off the field with the Blues halfback in serious trouble.
The Blues lead Queensland 28-4 in the second half.
