Tourists close to drowning after getting trapped when waterfall suddenly floods

Villagers came to their aid by fashioning a rope out of their turbans to tug the three helpless holidaymakers back to dry land. Three tourists made a miraculous escape with the help of kind villagers, after finding themselves trapped in the middle of a heavily flooded waterfall.

The adventure-loving trio had climbed on top of a rock for lunch to get a view of the Bhagsunag waterfall in the mountainous state of Himachal Pradesh, India.

But the men were still having their meals precariously perched on the rock when a sudden flash flood increased the level of the stream and left them stranded.
