Green Bay Packers safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix had the names of four Florida law-enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty on his cleats for Saturday night's NFL preseason game against the Washington Redskins.
Clinton-Dix added the names of Matt Baxter and Sam Howard, members of the Kissimmee (Florida) Police Department, who were shot on Friday. Baxter died shortly after the shooting, and Howard died on Saturday.
Clinton-Dix already had "Sgt. Debra" and "Big Norm" written on his cleats.
Norman Lewis of the Orange County (Florida) Sheriff's Office died on Jan. 9 in a crash while responding in a manhunt for the killer of Orlando Police Sgt. Debra Clayton, who was shot in December.
Clinton-Dix is a native of Orlando.
Clinton-Dix is a criminal-justice major at Alabama, where he was an All-American defensive back. This summer, he worked as an intern for Brown County (Wisconsin) Circuit Court Judge Don Zuidmulder to earn six credits toward his undergraduate degree.
