A devastated father has released harrowing CCTV footage which captured the moment his son was stabbed to death in a street fight.
Lauric Lebato was 22-years-old when he was fatally stabbed outside a party during a heated dispute in Albion Street, near Leicester city centre.
His killer Sulaiman Sillah, from Leicester, was sentenced to life in prison today at Birmingham Crown Court, reports the Leicester Mercury .
Sillah, 20, claimed he had acted in self-defence in the street brawl on February 11.
But after three-and-a-half hours of deliberation, the jury of eight men and four women returned a guilty verdict.
They also convicted Sillah’s close friend, Sheriff Oluwa, of violent disorder.
The video was released by Leicestershire Police and Lauric’s distraught father, Tagbeu Lebato, gave a short speech alongside it.
Introducing the CCTV footage , he said: “You are about to see my son being stabbed to death.
“You will find it shocking and upsetting.
