A man who once stormed into a pub brandishing a chain saw has threatened to chop his partner's son up and throw him in an estuary "so the crabs could eat him".
Dean Dinnen, 29, also attacked his partner with a meat cleaver, and "flicked a lighter towards her" after covering her in petrol.
He is due to be sentenced today when a judge will consider whether he is dangerous, reports the Hull Daily Mail .
Dinnen, who has a history of bizarre and extreme violence among his 76 previous offences, was subject to a suspended sentence at the time of his latest crimes - for threatening to set fire to the same woman's house on Christmas Day.
Prosecutor Philip Standfast told Hull Crown Court the couple "got on well" at first, but problems started "because the defendant couldn't handle the drugs he was taking and became, in her words, paranoid schizophrenic”.
