Terrified students are seen fleeing from a 17-storey block of flats as a fire ripped through the ground floor.
The University of Manchester students were being evacuated from the buildings, with many running barefoot and some wearing pyjamas as they escaped.
As fire crews arrived at the scene just after 10.30pm on Monday evening, students were shouting at others still inside, to get out.
Five fire engines were called to the Unite Students Parkway Gate halls, on Chester Street, after a storeroom went up in flames, reports the Manchester Evening News .
