Bald fisherman accidentally hooks his own HEAD after being distracted by pal while preparing to cast line

A hapless fisherman had to have one of his own hooks removed from his head following a freak accident.

Daan van Dijk, 46, was casting out for carp at Lac du Salagou in the south of France when he mistakenly hooked himself.

The bald angler had prepared several lines with bait and large metal hooks when he was distracted by a friend as he prepared to cast a line.

Daan’s head was struck by the hook, which pierced his skin and came back out - firmly snagging him when he had been hoping for a large fish.
