The world's fastest supercar, which can reach a speed of 500 kilometers per hour, was unveiled at the ongoing Dubai International Motor Show.
The concept of the supercar, Devel Sixteen, was first proposed by its homegrown automaker Devel back in 2013. Now, with the first production version displayed at the motor show, Devel's initial plan is no longer a dream.
According to the exhibitor, Devel had been looking for the ideal manufactures for their automobile’s components since it announced the plan four years ago. The company finally selected and used an engine developed by a laboratory that exclusively designs for supercars. The power of the engine is the equivalent of ten normal supercars with an air displacement of 12.3 liters.
"The most difficult part is the engine, then gear box to handle that much power, and finally the tires. We were surprised that so many companies are interested in attaching their name to the world's fastest car," said Rashid Al-Attar, general manager of Devel Motor Inc.
Devel Sixteen will soon be put into limited production and will be launched on the market in roughly 10 to 15 months at a price of 2.2 million U.S. dollars.
