A Spanish police officer sparked fury by knocking a woman to the ground in footage filmed by a shocked onlooker.
The cop, a member of Spain’s National Police, was filmed slapping his victim violently round the face during a tense street encounter in Valencia.
He was facing disciplinary action last night after bosses confirmed they were investigating the incident, said to have taken place in a street called San Juan de la Pena near to the city’s Arena shopping centre.
Actress Leticia Dolera sent a copy of the footage in a tweet to Interior Minister Juan Ignacio Zoido, saying: “Hello @zoidoJI. What is this? We want explanations.”
