A schoolgirl was hit over the head with an axe by a fellow student as he attempted to lead a 'school massacre' with two pals in Russia.
The 16-year-old ringleader headed into class with an arsenal of weapons including an axe, knives, bullets for a hunter’s riffle, ball bearings, a rope, a pack of screwdrivers and a petrol can.
He chopped off a younger boy's finger, before slamming the axe into the girl's head and then threw a Molotov cocktail into another classroom in a bid to start fires.
A teacher and five students needed hospital treatment, and the ringleader - named by Russian media as Anton Bichivin, a pupil at the same school - tried to commit suicide.
Police say he was joined by two fellow attackers during the rampage which happened while students were sat at their desks.
