Tourist dead and another fighting for life after gunman opens fire in packed Acapulco nightclub

A gunman pulled out a pistol and repeatedly fired shots into a crowded nightclub leaving one tourist dead and another seriously injured.



CCTV shows revellers enjoying their night out as they chat and dance among the tables in the club in Acapulco, Mexico.



But chilling CCTV shows that after a brawl broke out by the bar - with two men throwing punches - shots are fired from behind them.



Although the gunman is out of shot when he pulls out the gun, the flashes of the weapon light up the room.



People can be seen scattering, trying to flee to the exit or diving on the floor for safety.



Tragically several people were hit including a Chilean man, who was shot dead.



The attack happened inside the Baby Lobster club in the beach resort on Mexico's Pacific coast on Sunday.



The man who died was named as Javier Martin and he had become embroiled in the bar fight that turned into a shootout.



Five people were injured during the chaos including a 17-year-old girl.



Four people have since been released from hospital but one woman still remains fighting for her life.



State authorities in Guerrero confirmed that the deceased man was a tourist who had arrived in Mexico two days before he was shot.



Spokesperson Roberto Alvarez Heredia announced that eyewitness reports confirm what is visible from the CCTV images, and an investigation is underway.



Officials have inspected the venue and compiled testimonies and are using the information to track down the shooter.
