This is the shocking moment a pedestrian walks up to a driver and viciously punches their car window.



Dashcam from the car behind caught the entire incident on video and shows the person behind the wheel being attacked.



The car is first seen braking sharply as the pedestrian walks across the road, despite the driver having a green light on a road in a residential area in Wallasey, Merseyside.



Thanks to the quick actions of the driver, the man narrowly avoids getting hit.



But instead of walking off, the pedestrian turns back and starts sprinting after the vehicle.



He was filmed trying to pull the driver's door open and throwing a punch at the driver's window.



After the attack, the driver pulls out of a line of traffic and drives the wrong side of the road and across a roundabout.



The incident happened during the day on New Year's Eve but the man who filmed it has just released the footage, claiming police failed to take any action.



Rashid Khan's dashcam footage shows a black Vauxhall Corsa in front slamming on the brakes to avoid hitting a middle-aged man who wandered in the middle of a road.



The man, wearing a long coat and tight Adidas joggers can be seen staring into the passenger window at the driver after avoiding the car by inches.
