Three people have been killed when an illegal firework stand exploded.
The explosion is believed to have been accidentally triggered by the employees of the business, with the entire batch of bangers and fireworks being ignited.
Authorities in Yuxi City in south-western China said three people had lost their lives in the explosion, with a further five injured and one unaccounted for.
Footage taken by local residents shows flames shooting into and above busy streets with cars and pedestrians nearby.
The stand caught light at around 11pm local time, sending vehicles dodging out the way and pedestrians fled the area.
