A woman was thrown to the ground when a bungling biker tried to mug her for her mobile phone just a few feet from her front door.
The helmet-wearing attacker followed the woman into a gated area at an apartment block as the door was held open by another resident.
He made a grab for the phone she was talking on but was not expecting his "victim" to fight back.
Despite being thrown to the floor and other residents running away rather than trying to help, the woman refused to give up her property.
She eventually threw the phone away on to the grass nearby and the man ran back to his friend who was waiting on a getaway bike.
The woman appears to grab her phone from the grass and walks into the apartment block checking her ripped clothes.
The disturbing incident occurred in the Tamarineira area of Recife, capital of the Brazilian state of Pernambuco.
