Police officers thought their shift was "off to a slow start" until they were called by a panicked homeowner who has just found an 11-foot long alligator in their swimming pool.
The massive creature was found by swimming around the small backyard pool at a home in Sarasota in the west of Florida, WPTV West Palm Beach reports.
The intruder, which is almost twice the size of an average man, smashed its way through the swimming pool enclosure to get access to the refreshing water.
The Sarasota County Sherriff's Office posted a photo of the gator on Facebook with the message "just no".
