SIX pedestrians have been injured after a car ploughed into a crowd outside an Asda in North Manchester.
Police arrested an 80-year-old man on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving after the vehicle hit people outside Harpurhey shopping centre this afternoon.
Greater Manchester Police issued the following statement after the crash, which left four “walking wounded” and two others with leg injuries.
A spokeswoman said: “Shortly before 3.30pm today police were called to reports that a Kia Venga had been involved in a collision with two cars and a number of pedestrians at a car park in a supermarket in Harpurhey.
“Five pedestrians have been taken to hospital for treatment.
“An 80-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
