NBC’s Chuck Todd questioned Michael Avenatti about his motives with the Stormy Daniels case during a Sunday interview on “Meet the Press.”
Todd began the interview by asking Avenatti to explain why the American people should care about his case against the president, noting that Daniels has already told her story during an interview with “60 Minutes.”
“What are you fighting for at this point?” Todd asked.
Avenatti dismissed the “60 Minutes” interview, insisting that Daniels still has more to share because they only aired a portion of the three hour sit-down, and argued that the American people should care that the president is involved in a “cover-up.”
Todd got right to the heart of Avenatti’s motives with his next question, asking, “Are you trying to win a case or take down a president?
“We’re trying to win a case, and we’re trying to present facts and evidence to the American people. This is a search for the truth,” Avenatti claimed, before adding that the American people can then decide if Trump is “fit to remain in office.”
