Referee charity Ref Support UK have branded this sickening attack on an official as the 'worst assault of a match official on British soil'.
The attack occurred on Sunday during a cup final at New River, in Wood Green, in the Turkish Community Football Federation.
The ugly scenes came at the final whistle - after blowing for full time, the referee attempts to flee the pitch as a group tried to chase him.
As he crosses the half way line he is tripped by a flying kick before a man in what appears to be a Galatasaray home shirt rugby tackles him to the ground, leading to the mob kick him on the ground.
The league have opened an investigation into the incident, with one club and its player due for a disciplinary hearing.
