Viewers blasted a 30-year-old man they branded "lazy and whining" for attempting to defend refusing to leave his parents' house.
He has since been sued by his mum and dad and has been ordered to leave their home in New York.
Appearing on Good Morning Britain today via videolink, unemployed Michael Rotono tried to defend himself against his decision to refuse leaving the house.
Speaking to hosts Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway, he said: "It started when I had a problem with the agreement between my son's mother and myself regarding our son and it turned into a big legal battle which I lost and I couldn't see my son then."
