This is the astonishing moment a man was rescued from a submerged car after breathing through a tiny pocket of air the size of his head for 40 MINUTES.
The dramatic rescue was caught on camera after firefighters were called to a canal following reports a car had flipped off the road and two passengers were trapped.
Firefighters managed to free one man from the car after 15 minutes of battling through tangled metal.
The second man was trapped for a nail-biting 40 minutes with just a tiny pocket of air to desperately breath from.
Rescuers eventually managed to cut through the bodywork of the car before spreading the metal and pulling the second trapped man from the vehicle.
Investigators say the driver lost control of the car and swerved from a road in Sanger, California.
