An English bulldog with a "shower of slobber", droopy tongue and painted nails was crowned the World's Ugliest Dog at an official contest on Saturday.
Zsa Zsa, a stout and barrel-chested nine-year-old dog, beat 13 other canines to the title and won her proud owner $1,500 (£1,130) and a trophy.
Celebrity judges in Petaluma, near San Francisco in California, were impressed with the mutt's wrinkled face, protruded teeth and "shower of slubber".
"It was a very difficult decision. We loved all of the dogs," said reporter and judge Jo Ling Kent.
