Thousands of spectators watched in horror as a speeding drag boat caught on fire before exploding into thousands of pieces in a 260mph high-speed crash.
Miraculously driver Scott Lumbert survived the devastating impact that caused his boat to flip over and disintegrate.
Scott, 35, was airlifted to hospital and placed in a medically induced coma after his fuel hydroplane boat, named the Spirit of Texas, spun out of control and broke into pieces.
In footage of the near-fatal crash at the LakeFest racing weekend at Marble Falls, Texas, people can be heard gasping in horror as they watched from the sidelines.
The crash happened on August 14 but footage has only just emerged as the onlooker who filmed it wanted to check the driver was ok before publishing it.
