A leopard was cornered by villagers in central India and injured three people while trying to escape yesterday (January 7).
The incident took place in a village near the Banderi forest in Sagar district, Madhya Pradesh state, after the leopard was seen crossing the village boundary and became tangled in some ropes.
The villagers went to see the trapped predator but it suddenly charged out of the the bush and injured three villagers. The injured were sent for medical aid to a nearby government hospital.
Forest officials were informed and DFO Prashant Kumar and SDO Sudhir Singh arrived on the scene to catch the dangerous animal on the loose.
