A 'biblical' sandstorm has turned the Egyptian city of Cairo orange.
Some locals have had to seek shelter indoors after high winds carried a thick blanket of dust over the area.
Authorities have told those with respiratory problems to avoid going outside while the sand is in the air - while many others used masks or scarves to cover their faces.
The brutal winds caused rough seas and forced the ports of Suez and Zeitiyat to shut.
