A mum who was attacked by her knife-wielding ex praised her 'hero' daughter for 'standing between them' and 'saving her life'.
Beata Karchnakova was subjected to a brutal 20 minute attack when former partner Safet Hasanovic broke into her home and stabbed her multiple times.
In CCTV footage shown to Derby Crown Court, Beata can be hearing screaming for help during the attack which left her with serious injuries to her neck, head, hands and leg.
On several occasions, her brave daughter intervened in a desperate attempt to save her mum, reports Derbyshire Live.
Beata, 36, said her daughter threw an electric heater at Hasanovic, as well as punched him and stood between her mother and the blade.
Judge Jonathan Bennett praised the courageous youngster and said she should be given a £500 High Sheriff Award for her bravery.
Hasanovic, 46, of Bradford, who needed a Bosnian interpreter, was sentenced to a 10-year and eight-month prison sentence, with a four-year extended licence for grievous bodily harm with intent.
