A Cessna 206 plane, initials YV-1801, rushed on Monday at noon in the Gran Sabana, Bolívar state . In the accident died a colonel and a sergeant assigned to the Integral Defense Zone (Zodi) Guiana.
The deceased were confirmed by sources of Civil Protection and were identified as Colonel César Paúl Padrino Bruzual and the sergeant major of third José Silvestre Granja. Colonels Andrés Bermúdez and Carlos Sánchez and Jossan Pérez (pilot) were also reported injured.
The plane belonged to the company Aerotransporte La Montaña and rushed a few miles from the airport of Santa Elena de Uairén , specifically in the Maurak mountain range, presuming that due to lack of fuel.
According to unofficial sources, these military officials led the repression of the Pemón population on February 22 and 23, which left five people dead.
