An irate Livonia man smacked a Little Caesars manager across the face because he didn't like what was on his pizza and was arrested, charged with assault and battery and sentenced to 20 days in jail, according to police.
The attack — which was caught July 9 on the shop's security camera and reported Wednesday evening by WXYZ-TV (Channel 7) — came as a shock to Little Caesars' employees who said they had offered the man a new pizza or a refund.
The incident took place at the store located at 15574 Middle Belt in Livonia, according to a Livonia Police Department post on Facebook.
"I've been doing this for 12 years," Kelsi Beckwith, the woman who was struck, told WXYZ. "Not a day in my life have I ever had a customer lash out at me that bad."
Joseph Thorpe got so angry about his pizza because it had Italian seasoning on it, instead of Parmesan cheese, according to the television report. He returned to the store and slapped Beckwith as she tried to refund his money.
