A sleep-deprived taxi driver who smashed into a line of rush-hour traffic has been banned from the roads.
Daniel Beraki had clocked off at 3am on the morning of July 1, but got back in his cab at 11am for another shift.
He continued working until around 5pm, when he arrived at Newcastle International Airport to collect two new passengers.
Heading down the A167 Central Motorway towards Newcastle, Beraki kept the car at 70mph.
