London- A Cambridge street has been described as a "no man's land" as residents' fears over knife crime continue to grow.
A man with a knife was on the loose near New Street and Newmarket Road.
Emergency services were called to the scene shortly before 10 am and armed police were spotted outside the Travelodge and near the Beehive Centre.
A 26-year-old man was later arrested on suspicion of possession of a knife in a public place and attempting to cause grievous bodily harm.
At a Cambridge City East Area committee meeting last night, worried residents came together to raise their concerns over rising knife activity in the area.
