San Diego Police Department Released of Body Worn Camera Footage from incident regarding the officer involved shooting that took place on February 27, 2020.
The 2 officers involved shooting are Jeremy Huff, who has been with the department for eight years, and Filip Perry, who at the time had been with the department for nine months. Both work in the neighborhood policing division. They both fired shots at 70-year-old man Carlos Tomas Soto at close range just after he pulled the replica gun from his pocket and tossed it to the ground in an Otay Mesa at 6 a.m. in the entryway of a large makeshift shelter as officers were clearing out a homeless encampment at Otay Valley Regional Park, near Beyer Way and Palm Avenue.
Soto survived to two gunshot wounds.
The incident still under investigation.
