Tenn- Channel 3 has obtained video from the East Ridge Police Department that shows suspect Christopher J. Kitts leaving his car during the traffic stop and shooting at ERPD Corporal Terry Prescott.
The video shows when Prescott began to pursue Kitt’s red Dodge Challenger on Ringgold Rd.
The East Ridge Police Department said Prescott pulled Kitts over for being on his phone, violating Tennnessee’s hands free law.
After a minute of tailing, Kitts pulled over near the CVS.
He exited the car but halfway out, immediacy fired what appeared to be seven shots at the officer’s window.
Kitts then fled the scene.
According to public records, 43-year-old Kitts lived in Dallas, Texas and surrounding areas.
His criminal background ranged from domestic abuse, theft, to forgery.
