Deputies in Catawba County, North Carolina, are investigating an arson at an RV Park in the community of Sherrills Ford. Firefighters were called to the Lake Norman RV Resort on North Carolina Highway 150 around 1 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1.
Firefighters found the business on fire and reported major damage to the building. Video from the RV park's surveillance system showed a suspect wearing a mask and hoodie carrying a gas can and pry bar into the office.
The suspect then poured the chemical inside the building and set it on fire, triggering a small explosion. The suspect ran away with his feet on fire before the flames finally went out. A bag of money taken from inside the office also caught on fire in the parking lot. It's unclear how much money the suspect got away with following the break-in.
