Police stopped and detained a man in Croydon after they saw him wearing “several layers of clothing despite the warm weather". A video posted on social media showed a confrontation between the man and Met Police officers after he was stopped on a side road off Dagnall Park, in Selhurst.
In the video one of the officers can be heard telling the man he “was not dressed for the climate” as he stood recording the encounter in Croydon while they asked him why he was wearing a coat on Wednesday (March 23) at 4.47 pm. The officers went on to detain him and conduct a search under the Misuse of Drugs Act but nothing was found on the man and he was released.
