A prom dance floor collapsed in Peru, sending dozens of students to the floor.
Foreign media such as the New York Post reported on the 21st (local time), citing local media, that this video, which was referred to as a disaster film, recorded 4.2 million views on TikTok.
Peruvian media ‘El Popular’, which released the video on the 17th, said the accident happened at a high school graduation party in San Martin.
In the video, students held balloons and jumped as if they were playing trains, rallying. However, the floor suddenly collapsed and dozens of students fell in an instant. A cloud of white dust rose, the party hall became a mess, and the music stopped.
Fortunately, the floor only went down by about 2m, so it didn’t lead to a major accident, and after a while, the students were able to go out on their own on ladders brought by someone.
The 25 students who collapsed were immediately taken to the local hospital, fortunately there were no deaths and two students were said to have suffered minor injuries.
The cause of the floor collapse is not clear. Tromm, a local media outlet, said that “the floor was made of wood and could not support the weight of the students.”
So far the video has recorded more than 4.5 million views on TikTok alone. Netizens left jokes like “We dance until the floor breaks” and “The real ripped up the dance floor”.
