According to posts on Facebook, the couple is from Tangshan, China, and in a girlfriend-boyfriend relationship or civil partnership, basically living together but not yet officially married, they have a child. The man is beating the woman dues to economic reasons in their family. The man has been arrested and the woman has been sent to the hospital and is not in danger of dying.
The relatives of the woman posted the video on social media. Apparently, the man has apologized and has been forgiven by the woman's relatives (Chinese police tend to say this all the time, they will say one side has apologized or both sides have and the matter is seemingly resolved) and the video has been deleted.
