A man was killed when he was hit by an oncoming train in downtown Minneapolis after falling onto the light rail tracks during a fight.
Minneapolis Police Department says the incident happened at 1 a.m. at the Hennepin Avenue/Warehouse District station at 1st Avenue and 5th Street.
Police say the victim was involved in a "physical altercation" with another man that saw him end up on the tracks as a light rail train approached.
The victim was struck by the train and pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
The man's death is being investigated by Minneapolis Police Department's homicide unit. His identity is expected to be released at a later date.
