On the 28th, a man who was directing traffic was hit and killed by a car on a national highway in Nogata City, Fukuoka Prefecture.
A 63-year-old man who was driving the car was arrested.
According to the police, at around 3:30 pm on the 28th, a large cargo truck hit a man in his 60s who was directing traffic for weeding work on National Route 200 in Yunohara, Nogata City.
The man was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but was pronounced dead about an hour later.
Police arrested Fumio Yanagi (63), a company employee from Fukutsu City, who was driving the large cargo truck, and are investigating him on suspicion of causing death by negligent driving.
In response to the investigation, Suspect Yanagi admitted to the charges, and at the time of the report, he said, ``The left lane was restricted, but I didn't notice and collided with the vehicle.''
